Too Funny to Pass Up.
If you know me - you know why I think this is hilarious.
If you don't know me - then why the #*@% are you reading my blog?
Stairway to Heaven
I find this strangely appropriate for Sharon's Memory |
When I left work Friday, an instrumental version of "Stairway to Heaven" (by local artist, Stephanie Jackson) was playing on my car's CD player. It felt appropriate, and I even had it repeat on the way home.
I will probably wait until after the holidays before I post again. Everyone have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year!

Turkey Day Approacheth!
I'm not going to go all maudlin and weepy listing all the things I am thankful for, cause there are tons - and I would end up forgetting someone or something. If you are important to me - you already know this. I try to make a point of it all during the year - not just at holidays. But - that said - "Family" - yeah you - "I love you and appreciate you". Enjoy your holiday - wherever you're located.
Well, after losing to Alabama (25-20), MSU made a statement with a 51-0 trouncing of Vanderbilt. The Dogs are still in the mix for the College football championship, but there chances took a hit when "That School Up North" lost big time (30-0) to Arkansas. It would have made the "Egg Bowl" at more attractive game to the selection committee, but not so much now that TSUN has 3 losses. But MSU needs to take care of business and continue the beat-down of the battered Rebs. Then they just have to hope their 11-1 resume is attractive enough to the selection committee. Of course it wouldn't hurt if Bama lost to Auburn ("War - DAMN -EAGLE!) or the Gators put a "chomp-chomp" on Florida State. So - yeah - hunting Saturday morning & football - noon-ish on. The "Egg Bowl" is a 2:30 start on CBS.
Friday, the Starkville High Yellowjackets will be playing in round 3 of the Mississippi 6A championship. The game will be here in Starkville against the South Panola Tigers. Both teams are ranked #1 in their regions and both were at home last week. Since both are undefeated, the game is at Starkville since they are the highest ranked team (#1 in Miss. & #2 in the nation - according to Maxpreps.com.) The winner will be the Miss. North 6A champion and will play the South 6A champion in the State Championship game - which is being held this year (for the first time) in Mississippi State's football stadium. So SHS would have played every playoff game at home this year. GO JACKETS! ! !
That's about all I have for now. I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving.
Everyone have a great Holiday!

Busy Weekend - Starting Tonight! (Thursday)
Busy, Busy, BUSY! Tonight the Starkville Area Arts Council, of which DKW is a board member, is having their Holiday Showcase Reception. The works of several local artists will be featured and the "big reveal" of the winning poster that promotes the 2015 Cotton District Arts Festival will highlight the evening. As this is highly publicized local event, I "gussied up" a bit to attend. I will be wearing (spoken in runway announcer's voice) "a black cotton dress shirt with silver pin stripes, set off with matching maroon bow tie and suspenders." :-) This night is all for my sweetie, cause for the rest of the weekend I'll be footballin' it up!
Tomorrow morning I will be leaving from work and heading down to Clinton for the game between the Starkville High Yellowjackets (#1 in the state) and the Clinton High Arrows (#5 in the state & #2 in the same region as SHS). The winner of this game will be the #1 seed from 6A-Region 2 when the playoffs start next Friday (Nov. 14th). Now, SHS is favored and is my "alma mater" but my grandson plays for Clinton. "OH! What a dilemma." you might say. But not really - When my grandson is in the game I will watch him earnestly and hope he stays healthy and does well - but I have been a SHS supporter since I was 5 years old - that will never change. If you ask my grandson, he will tell you that I told him early in the year that I hoped SHS and Clinton were both undefeated when they met on November 7th (tomorrow). Well, Clinton has lost one game, but it was outside our region - so both teams are undefeated in region games. I look forward to a good game. I hope everyone comes out healthy. BUT, GO JACKETS! (This link is for a Clarion Ledger article about playoff scenarios.)

Saturday is homecoming for the MSU Bulldogs. They will be hosting the UT-Martin Skyhawks and are favored by 45 points. Should be able to play a lot of folks and rest the starters. Which State needs to do as next week (11/15), the Dogs will travel to Tuscaloosa to play Alabama. A win at Bama would go a long way towards folks finally realizing, "Hey M State really is a good team!"
Everyone have a great day!

It was a Beautiful Weekend
My #1 Mississippi State Bulldogs...... MAN! I love saying that. Soooooo.....
My #1 Mississippi State Bulldogs took care of business in their first game as the #1 team and left Kentucky still undefeated (7-0). Now it was not easy, and State did not play their best game, but to accomplish great things you have to win even if you are not at your peak. The Dogs are back at home this weekend and host 4-4 Arkansas. The early line is MSU by 14.
What made the weekend doubly sweet is the fact that Ole Miss lost to LSU (who State beat 34-29) by a score of 10-7. So now MSU is the ONLY team in the SEC without a loss. Really hope they keep it up.
On the high school front, SHS defeated Jackson Murrah, 34-6 to go to 9-0 (5-0 in region) on the year. SHS is ranked # 1 in Mississippi and #6 in the nation (according to Maxpreps.com). Now, Warren Central High (out of the Vicksburg area) was also undefeated and in second place in our region. This past Friday was their homecoming game. Well, my grandson's team (the Clinton Arrows) held on at the end and a missed extra point gave Clinton a 14-13 victory. So, now our region is very interesting. Clinton is 8-1 overall and 5-0 in the region, so they move into second, behind Starkville and ahead of 8-1 (4-1 in region) Warren Central. Starkville hosts Warren Central this Friday and finishes at Clinton on November 7th. So, bottom line, SHS wins out ant they will be the #1 seed in the region. Lose to WC and beat Clinton, tiebreakers have to be figured out. Beat WC and the winner of SHS-Clinton will be the region's #1 seed. All 3 (SHS, WC, Clinton) have clinched playoff spots. The #1 & #2 seeds will play at home during the first week of playoffs (Nov.14th). So - GO JACKETS!.
On a front unrelated to football - Debra and I will celebrate our 5th anniversary on Friday. Man - how the time has flown.
Everyone have a great week!

Win could send MSU to No. 1

Win could send MSU to No. 1

STARKVILLE – The rankings mean nothing to Dan Mullen on the field. There’s no strategic advantage gained from a higher ranking. But in his household, Mississippi State’s No. 3 spot means everything, especially in popping up on his son Canon’s radar.
“He’s really into the rankings right now,” Mullen said. “We’re starting to compete with some other people for his favorite. He likes the winners.”
The 5-year-old took an interest in Florida State recently. It’s no coincidence the defending national champions are ranked No. 1 in both the AP and coaches polls. Mississippi State has a chance to jump FSU next week.
The Bulldogs received two first-place votes in this week’s AP Top 25. Their opponent, No. 2 Auburn, tallied 23. If either team received those 25 first-place votes this week, it would have been enough to surpass Florida State.
“Now that we’re climbing, he’s excited about it. When you climb, you’re always on the ticker,” Mullen said. “There’s not a time we don’t roll on the ticker and, ‘Dad! Dad! Dad! There we are!'”
The Bulldogs shot up into the top 5 after back-to-back top-10 wins. Mississippi State beat LSU at Baton Rouge for the first time since 1991 on Sept. 20. Two weeks later it pounded Texas A&M.
It all led to the school’s highest ranking ever at No. 3. A third straight top-10 victory could propel MSU to No. 1.
“Everyone talks about we’re going to win championships,” Mississippi State athletic director Scott Stricklin said. “I’m much more concerned about being the No. 1 team at the end of the year than right now.”
Mississippi State had never received a first-place vote before this week. Davis Wade Stadium has never hosted a top-3 matchup before.
Many national pundits believe the matchup between the Tigers and Bulldogs features the best two teams in the country.
“For us, our goal is to win the SEC West,” Mullen said. “…We haven’t done that. Everything else, I’m not really sure that it’s really important. In my years in the SEC, one thing I’ve learned, if you win a really big game in this league, the gift is you get an even bigger one the next week.”
The ranking has been a gift for Mississippi though — for both schools. Ole Miss and Mississippi State are both ranked No. 3. Football Outsiders efficiency rating slots the two teams 1 and 2.
The same pundits who believe the best two teams will be playing in Starkville this week slot Ole Miss at No. 3. There’s little debate the Magnolia State is the mecca of college football.
“You’re always hearing about what Mississippi’s last in. Or if we’re ranked high, it’s something for not being great,” Mullen said. “But to be considered one of the best at something that’s really dear to everyone’s heart in the state, that really everybody in the whole state can celebrate, not pointing fingers or anything like that. Everybody can celebrate it. I think it’s pretty special.”
Mississippi State has enjoyed this kind of exposure before.
“It’s not unlike the run the baseball team made playing for the national championship two years ago,” Stricklin said. “The deeper you go in that thing, the more Mississippi State gets talked about more often. The higher you go up in the football rankings, it’s the same deal.”
Only the microscope for football magnifies its objects with much more power.
There’s no guarantee how long it will last. Mullen’s voice cracked and eyes watered last weekend describing just how difficult it is to win, especially in the SEC West. Away from the top-3 matchup in Starkville, Ole Miss travels to College Station to face No. 14 Texas A&M.
“The reality of it all is you’ve got to get to work and be a better football team,” Mullen said. “Except for being able to feel good this week and our guys getting patted on the back around campus, we haven’t accomplished anything close to what we want to accomplish.”
The sixth-year coach is well aware how quickly the praise can turn into criticism, too.
“The difference between a pat on the back and a kick in the rear end is six inches,” Mullen said. “We’ve got to make sure we keep it on the high end of those six inches.”
“He’s really into the rankings right now,” Mullen said. “We’re starting to compete with some other people for his favorite. He likes the winners.”

Mississippi Magic!
I've been debating about a new post for a bit - 'cause I don't want to be jinxing anything- but after this weekend - DAAANNNNNGGGGGG!
Not only did my Dawgs knock off #6 Texas A&M, but That School Up North beat #1 Alabama, and for the first time EVER, both schools are ranked in the top 10! Not only that, they are both ranked (by the AP) as tied for #3! Wowser! Wow! WOW!
And..........if ya couldn't guess - Dak Prescott is now considered one of the favorites for this year's Heisman Trophy, and will be in the mix as long as MSU keeps winning.
It doesn't get any easier for the Bulldogs as they host the new #2, Auburn Tigers this weekend. And, ESPN's Game Day Show will broadcast from Starkville (setting up in the Junction, outside Davis-Wade Stadium). Now Game Day was in Oxford this past weekend, and Katie Perry was the guest picker. I don't know who could be coming in as guest picker this week, but I could throw out a couple of suggestions - maybe, Brett Favre or John Grisham. Brett knows football and John is an MSU alum (and also follows sports.)
Now I want to throw out a couple more football related "didja knows". Starkville High School is ranked #1 in Mississippi and according to the Maxpreps.com website, #7 in the nation. And if that isn't enough, nearby (approx. 45 miles) East Mississippi Community College, is ranked #1 in the nation in the JuCo poll. LOTS of really outstanding football in a relatively small part of Mississippi.
It is with nervous anticipation that I look forward to this weekend. Lots more great games on the tube all day long. That said - I have to give a "tip of the hat" to my wife. She allows me to indulge in as much over the "pigskin buffet" as I desire, with nary a disparaging word or thought - for this I am greatful! We will celebrate our 5th anniversary this month, and I feel fortunate to have her.
Everyone have a great day!

Once More, Into the breach!
I've really got to start doing a better job on my postings. No excuses, I've just not done it.
Now before I get into my football update, I did finally break down this past Saturday and join the 21st century by purchasing a flat screen TV. Not one of the huge mumma hummers, but a 40" wide screen that nicely fits the spot I had. Got it just in time for MSU's big game that night with LSU in Baton Rouge.
That said, WOW! State pretty much dominated the game, but mistakes made it a lot closer than it should have been. However, the 34-29 score was wrapped in maroon and white and the Dogs are now 4-0. They have 2 weeks to correct the mistakes and get ready to host the high octane (& #6 ranked) Texas A&M Aggies on October 4th. MSU also cracked the national poll at #14.
My SHS Yellowjackets went to Florence, AL, to face the #6 team in the state of Alabama. The Florence Falcons. SHS pretty much dominated (again) 37-7. In 4 games thus far this year, they have scored 174 points and given up 58. Outscoring opponents by an average of 29 points. The Jackets are (according to MaxPreps.com (http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/starkville-yellowjackets-(starkville,ms)/football/home.htm) ranked #1 in Mississippi and #14 in the nation. This Friday (9/26) SHS will play the Columbus (MS) Falcons. Unfortunately, Columbus is not very good this year and I fully expect it to be a route. I would not be surprised if SHS is up 30+ at the half and gives all the subs a chance in the 2nd half to keep the scoring down a bit.

FOOTBALL!, Deer vs. Smart Car, and Catching up.
Half Right - I did use OH . . . .! |
Football is back. Last Friday (8/22/2014), SHS dominated Noxubee Central (the #1 4A team in the state, 51-19. It doesn't get any easier tomorrow as we go to Oxford High and play the #1 5A team in Mississippi.
Tonight (8/28) there are 4 college games on TV and I have more than a passing interest in a couple, but the game I am most interested in is Ole Miss and Boise State in Atlanta. I'll also peek in, from time to time, on the Tulane @ Tulsa game - just cause I've been to Tulane games in the past. There are 3 or 4 college games tomorrow night on TV also, but Saturday is the BIG day. The first game that day is a 7:30 am (central). It is Penn State vs. UCF, live from Dublin, Ireland. Too many games to mention during the rest of the day, but I will be watching my MSU Bulldogs play the Southern Miss Golden Eagles at 6:30 on the new SEC Network. Go Dawgs! MSU is expected to win as the various betting services have them 4 to 5 touchdown favorites. So everybody grab yer Snacks, settle in, and feed your pigskin palate!
Everybody have a Great Day!
AND THEY ARE IN COLLEGE!!!!!
Okay, I need to catch up, but this one incident that occurred deserves its own post. So here goes.....
For those that don't know, I work in a College of Veterinary Medicine Library. So nearly all of our non-faculty patrons are grad students working on becoming a vet.
So early one morning, I had a very agitated young lady approach me and say, "Please look at this. I sent it to the color printer" (which I confirmed by checking the cover sheet) "and it printed in black and white."
I went with her back to our computer area to check our color printer and make sure there was sufficient toner in each of the 4 base colors. There was, so puzzled, I asked if she was still logged into one of our lab computers. She was, so I asked if she minded if I took a look at the document she wanted to print.
"Sure", she sniped. "Its not working right."
So I went into the document and scrolled down several pages. The document was in Black and White!
So I asked her, "Do you know that this document is in black and white?"
"YES," she whined. " But I NEED it in Color!
After a few minutes of patiently trying to explain that if the original document is in black and white, it will only print in black and white, she seemed to finally grasp the concept and left.
This is our future?
Everyone have a great day!

Jumped the Gun
Ready for SHS Yellow Jackets Football |
First, the Yaris was not totaled. It has been fixed and is now ready for the road. I will be picking it up today or tomorrow.
Second, DKW and I went to Florida last week to visit our grandchild (oh - & her parents), little Savvy Sue ANNNNDDD while it Florida to get the little SmartCar fortwo pictured. Everything was cool and we had a good time until Tuesday (July 29th). I started back to Starkville (MS) early that morning and about 200 miles into the trip, the water pump went out in my Cooper Mini. The part had to be ordered and I ended up spending the night in Albany, Georgia. Nice enough town, but I really wanted to be home. In all fairness though, the guys at the Goodyear Automotive Center were great. They kept me informed and kept the total cost at the estimate they gave me (even though they ended up doing a couple of other things.) They even did a full inspection and said it should be good for another 100K miles. But I did leave there with a much lighter wallet.
Third, Thursday morning (7/31), I received a call from DKW. She was just minutes from Savvy's house when the engine warning light came on. Not wanting to risk the car. She called AAA and they took it to the SmartCar dealer. Well, she's still there and could be there until new Tuesday (8/5). The problem is getting the part. If it doesn't come in today, they won't get it until sometime Monday. Its very frustrating for both of us, but we have both said - at least she's with family and not in a hotel far from anyone. We'll survive, but that doesn't make it any less aggravating.
Fourth, Dr. Who starts the new season on August 23rd, (as I've said before). I just wanted to share this news that I read on BBCAmerica.com.
Everyone have a great day!

Goodbye Old Friend.............(maybe)
Pre-wreck |
DKW had an accident yesterday and her little Yaris experienced some major trauma. DKW was a bit shaken and is fairly sore now, but should recover. We are just waiting on the insurance adjuster to decide what we're going to do. It might be repairable, but not worth the expense. The blue book on the car is a little over $7K. I talked to the collision repair guy and he (unofficially) said he would figure $8K to $10K worth of damage, so I figure a total loss. But we won't know that for sure until the adjuster does his job. Which I hope is soon, because we'd really like to move on getting another vehicle.Everyone have a great day.

Different Lives. Different Times.
Can you watch this & not go "Na na Na na Na na Na na, Batman!" |
In my pre-CG years, I was (and still am in many respects) a comic-book geek. Heck I was watching cartoons - that I had tivo-ed - last night (but I digress). An article online caught my attention that beginning at 6:00 AM on Friday, July 4th, the IFC Network (Channel 564 / DirecTV) will start a marathon in which they will air all 3 seasons (1966-1968) - a total of 120 episodes of "BATMAN" (starring Adam West and Burt Ward). I don't think I'll try to TiVo and watch them all, but I will probably pick and choose what I remember as some of my favorites. For example, the 2 eps. with Liberace cast as a villain, Vincent Price as "Egghead", The "Green Hornet" cross-over, any with Batgirl (As a pre-teen boy, I had such a crush on Yvonne DeCarlo, Ha-cha-cha-cha!), just to mention a few.
I mentioned the 4th holiday earlier, and we will be having a cook-out for a few friends and famiy, but there is another (kind of ) mini-milestone on that day. It will mark 300 days until I am eligible to retire. I don't think that I will, but it will be nice to have the option next year.
One last thing, tomorrow (July 3rd) marks one year since Chiquita joined our household, and we couldn't imagine not having her.

Travel and Books
Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I last made an entry.
Since my last posting, DKW and I have taken a trip to Catawissa, PA, and the surrounding area. We visited with her childhood friend and her family and had a pretty good time. One thing we did while there was visit Knoebel's (pronounced by the locals' - "Kuh-no-bell's" - no silent K here.) Amusement Resort. I went on the wooden roller coaster there (The Phoenix) and enjoyed it. But imagine my surprise this week when I found out that that roller coaster was on "The Travel Channel's" list of "15 Coolest Roller Coaster's In the World". And I rode it before I knew it was so cool. NEAT!
I love to read, and I do read a lot. I've read nearly all my life and have tried to pass to all my children my love of books (with mixed results). And while I can understand the allure of electronic books, my personal preference is an old fashioned paper book that you could check out of a library. I read so that I'll live longer. You mean that you haven't heard that you don't age while reading. Well, that's my story - and I'm sticking to it.
Gotta hit the yard and mow again. Haven't done it since the last time I blogged about it. Never-ending battle ya know!
I'll try and do a better entry next week.

Getting off my lazy .................
Uh- Huh! I did! |
MSU went 2-2 in the SEC baseball tournament. Not good enough to win it, but its a "Good News, Bad News" deal as far as the regional they are going to. The good news is that they made a regional and are the #2 seed. They will play #3 seed, San Diego State at 1:00 (central) on Friday. That night, the #1 seed (U. Louisiana-Lafayette) will play the #4 seed, Jackson State. These games are being played on the Ragin' Cajuns' home field. By coincidence, in the lastest College Baseball poll (out today), ULL (46-4) is the new #1 team in the nation. So if MSU wants to return to Omaha this year, it won't be easy (if it ever is).
My oldest son and family came for a short visit yesterday and it was nice to visit with them all. We grilled out (burgers and hot dogs) and went fishing for a bit. He caught a nice stringer of bass. So it was a good visit.
Friday (23rd) I was finally able to get my mowing (3 acres) done. We hadn't had rain for a solid week, so it was fairly dry - and it had been 5 weeks since I was last able to mow, so it was pretty deep in places. I glad I got it done, because its supposed to rain (AGAIN!) most of this week.
Everyone have a great day!

Something for my dad
L'il girls sharing one of the many word blocks I made at the CDAF. |
Even though I didn't win anything, I thought I would share my entry here. Its a little homage to my late dad, an avid fisherman that taught me to fish, and is pretty self-explanatory.
SUMMER BATTLE
Cool mist floats on the water.Arm cocks and casts,
The line sings out flashing in the early morning sunlight.
Ploop!
The lure hits the water, sinks. The reel hums as temptation surges through the depth.
Bump. Strike! Zing!
The hook is set and the rod bends at the fight.
The line sings with tension .
Splash!
The finny combatant breaks the surface.
Netted, he calms down.
Five pounds, if an ounce.
I gaze upward and thank Dad for teaching me to fish!
Gently released, the lunker lunges deep
Perhaps we battle another day.Everyone have a great day!

Playing Catch-up..............Again
Well, its been nearly a month since my last post and its time to catch things up.
One week ago I observed the annual event commemorating the first time I drew breath on planet Earth. I didn't say "Celebrated my birthday", because at 59 (Gad!) - - I mean, ya know? I'm not saying I'm not happy, I am. I have a good job, a good home and family that love me. And I hope to celebrate at least 50 more. I'm in good health and take pretty good care of myself - so it may happen.
Saturday (April 12th), is the Cotton District Arts Festival in Starkville and I have been and will be involved in that. Check the "Writers' Village" and you may see a pic with me and some of the word blocks I made. I added 134 more blocks for this years festival, which puts the current total just under 500 blocks, I believe. The CDAF this year coincides with Super Bulldog Weekend (April 10-13) here at MSU. There are a lot of events going on, including the Spring football game and a SEC Baseball series with Ole Miss. With all the folks in town for SBW there should be nice attendance at the CDAF.

Elvis's Throne
Okay. I was perusing yesterday's local newspaper, and the little blurb at the top of the page said "Historic Local Business could be closing", see article page B-5. So, being curious, I turned to the appropriate page and read about a plumbing company that was facing closure if they didn't get additional new contracts to keep going. They have been in business for 70-plus years. Alright, you may be saying, What makes them historic? I too wondered until I read (and I quote) "If it happens (closure) it's a tough break for the historic business, which built the first soft vinyl toilet seat in the world in 1975, manufactured the toilet seats NASA used in its space shuttles and made the toilet seat Elvis Presley died on."
I cracked up. I snorted and laughed out loud. Not at Elvis dying on the throne, but, tactless as it may have been - they missed a great advertising opportunity. (Let your imagination run wild.)

Happy V. Day!!
Hi All. I've really been struggling to get back on this blog. Just didn't seem to have any initiative to do it. I finally decided just to make myself get back to it. Especially since I have (what I consider) a few interesting tidbits.
FIRST, and foremost, since this is Valentines Day - A shout-out to my sweetie. Love ya! (And I hope everyone has a good one!)
On this date in 1918, the very first Tarzan movie (silent- of course) was released. It starred Elmo Lincoln and was filmed in Morgan City, LA.
I heard this morning of the passing of Ralph Waite. Most folks will remember him as Papa Walton, but in more recent years he has played Special Agent Jethro Gibb's father on NCIS.
It may be hard to believe, but MSU starts their baseball season today at 6:30, but the opponent has changed from Hofsta to Western Carolina. Hofstra (out of New Jersey) decided it was too dangerous to travel due to the severe winter storms in the northeast. So the Dogs reached out to the Catamounts - and they said "Sure! Let's play". So there will be baseball this weekend. Thanks for comin' Cats!
Depending on which pre-season College Baseball Poll you look at, the Bulldogs have been ranked as high as #2 and as low as #9. That's the reason for a record number of season tickets being sold. Expectations are obviously high for a team that reached the National Championship game last season (losing to Champ UCLA) and return all but a couple of players from that unit. GO DOGS!
That's about all I have for now. I'll have a little chat with Sophie this weekend, and make a point of getting her blog updated next week.Hugs, Kisses, and Belly (Sorry- Strayed a bit talking about Sophie.)
Every one have a great day!

My Childhood is Fadin' Fast
The Professor and Gilligan |
Also passing this week, from a program that was popular later in my life, was Dave Madden. More widely known as Reuben Kincaid, the manager of "The Partridge Family". Not only a popular TV show, it produced several albums and chart topping songs in the early 70's.
Now, not particularly a part of my childhood (though for some reason CBS ran the movie once a year for several years during the 60's) was "The Wizard of Oz". This passing just kind of makes you go "Awwww." Ruth Duccini passed at the age of 95. Ruth was once of the munchkins we saw when Dorothy arrived in Oz. With her passing, the number is down to ONE. Jerry Maren (93) is the last surviving munchkin.
One last thing, Mississippi State was successful in the 2013 Liberty Bowl. I will admit to being a little worried in the very beginning as Rice scored first and took a 7-0 lead. (But I think they just made the Bulldogs mad.) It was 7-7 at the end of the first quarter, but the rest of the game was pretty much all Dogs. They pretty much just chewed up the Owls en route to a 44-7 MSU victory.
Everyone have a great day!
